Today it seems as though anything we steep in water many of us, at least in the west, refer to as “tea”.
The term “Tea” then has taken on a context in our society much larger & wide reaching, and refers to a much broader range of “steep-able” plants than the actual botanical Camellia Sinesis that has always been, and is still known as “Tea” by tea aficionados.
Not for a moment to diminish other steep-able plants, it is noteworthy however to distinguish true tealeaves from other steep-able plants if for no other reason than to be aware of what we are consuming, enjoying, and benefiting from.
Differentiating allows us to understand and categorize steep-able plants and tomake more accurate comparisons as well as to more accurately evaluate and understand what we are consuming and its affect on us.
At Drink Great Tea, in addition to an extensive array of Cameilla Sinesis from over a dozen countries, we bring our customers a growing list of herbs and other steep-ables to further meet their needs and to enhance their “Tea” drinking experience.
Visit our “Herbals & Infusions” or “Nature’s Apothecary” sections to view our growing collection of non-tea Steep-able options, and look by “Tea Type” to review our extensive Camellia Sinensis selections.
